Under her leadership their medical clinic has added alternative medicine including acupuncture, naturopathic care and Chinese herbal medicine.  She also started one of this country’s first syringe exchange programs in 1989.  Their Homeless Youth Department has developed into a thriving program that provides the housing, case management, employment and education supports that homeless youth need. Kathy also started a social business venture, the Virginia Woof Dog Daycare which is successful in both generating profit and providing job training for homeless young people.
