Karen has been the Executive Director of Bienestar since 2007. Their mission is to build housing, hope and futures for the well being of working families and seniors. She oversees a portfolio of 11 affordable housing properties in Washington and Columbia counties as well as a comprehensive suite of resident service programs, Pathways from Poverty, for adult and youth residents. She is working on plans for two new affordable housing projects for seniors and farmworker housing in Washington County. Her previous experience includes work as a Senior Vice President at Bank of America, and work in property management and development in Boston. She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and has served on several national nonprofit boards.
